The Prince Albert is one the most interesting wrecks of the Caribbean especially for the novice diver. The ship is fully in the open in 60 feet of water and allows easy access to the inside. However, most of the beauty of the wreck is outside as it is covered with a myriad of growth and critters. She is 140 feet long and a fairly typical island freighter.

There is ample opportunity for photogs to shoot interior and exterior shots as well as a resident green moray and some of the largest arrow crabs I have seen. They almost don’t qualify as macro.

The hull is totally intact and the holds are fully open making it not only easy to enter but completely safe for even the first time wreck diver. This by no means should imply the seasoned diver won’t enjoy her.

Photographers especially will like her since she is such a classically encrusted ship as many deeper wrecks are, and has some truly beautiful growth. Most wrecks this shallow don’t retain their integrity or their beauty since wave action and storms tend to keep them cleaned off and break them up.

She also has something else that, considering her condition, few other wrecks have that photographers will like - lots of light!
