MV Captain Keith Tibbetts

Purchased by the Cayman government, this 330 foot Russian Frigate was sunk in September 1996. She is just beginning to develope a covering of growth. Tibbetts is broken in two amidships with the center a pile of twisted steel and rubble. Both bow and stern are in excellent condition however.

The bow gun turrett is reasonably clean and the home of  several small critters.

Just forward of the helm and radar tower is what appears to have been a missle launch platform.

Just aft of the radar tower, the ship has been broken in half probably by hurricane damage as the bow section appears to have been literally twisted off of the rest of the ship. Inside the broken section there is nothing but twisted steel and the gas turbine power plant.

The stern turrett is in excellent shape and the interior is accessible
