Grenada is known as the ‘Spice Island’ due to the multitude of spices which grow wild on the island. Of course, these are cultivated now, but they still grow wild throughout the island as well. A side trip to the old spice plantation is always in order where you can see how the nutmeg is handled and hear a lecture on the history of the spice industry.
