At gentle Winds we found this large three foot turtle that was completely blind. There are growths completely covering it’s eyes. One has to wonder how this turtle could survive. How does it find food and how does it know how deep the water is or even where shore is. It would seem that it would just wander out to sea and get lost to starve to death, but this one reportedly has been around this reef for a long time. There have even been attempts to capture it and have the island vet remove the growths.
